To Mount Bromo

Arriving Surabaya late in the afternoon

Immediately in a transport for the journey to Mount Bromo, a still active volcano,

The journey will take 5hours throughout the better part of the night, so we stopped by for dinner.

There are 4 stages to the journey to Mount Bromo:-

1. from Surabaya to Lava View (stopover chalet for resting) takes 5hours

2. From Lava view to check point A (before dawn) by 4 wheel drive

3. from check point A to check point B climbing up to the look out point riding on ponies

4. from check point B climbing up on foot to the look out point. all these in complete darkness. to watch the sunrise overlooking the Mount Bromo itself.

the crater still steaming, the last explosion was in early 2011, you can still see the effects of the explosion surrounding the area.
